Linda Spice is an award-winning journalist who built a 15-year career reporting and sharing stories in print for The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. During that time she also embraced new media by breaking news online, sharing on social platforms, and layering stories by shooting and editing video.
She later transferred that experience into becoming the first electronic communications coordinator for Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, adding to her skills e-marketing, web page management and analytics, media relations, magazine features, and social media engagement. Her next career move took her to the Office of Marketing and Communications at Alverno College, where she managed the college's website and social media strategies as digital communication specialist.
After expanding her communication and multimedia skills through positions in higher education for more than a decade, she returned to her first true love — journalism — and took a position as the retail and restaurant reporter for The Milwaukee Business Journal in 2023.
In addition to her journalism career at The Milwaukee Business Journal and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, her work has been published in Milwaukee Magazine, F1RST Magazine, WisPolitics.com, and New York Daily News.
She received her M.Ed. in adult and continuing education at Carroll University, where she built her study and capstone on storytelling for non-profits. She has produced videos for non-profit organizations for more than 10 years, working with Literacy Services of Wisconsin, Waukesha County Community Foundation, America Works and Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southeast Wisconsin.
She has taught undergraduate courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Carroll University. Her focus with students has been on news reporting as well as digital media.
